Amazons

The Amazons are a race of warrior women who exist as part of Greek mythology. They live on Paradise Island (also known as Themyscira), an isolated location in the middle of the ocean where they are hidden from Man's World (the rest of the world; given this name by the Amazons for obvious reasons). Their leader is traditionally Hippolyta. Their ambassador to the rest of the world is the superhero Wonder Woman. (1)
