ABOUT:[]

An aspect of Adam's 'BATMAN' career often overlooked was his 1976 Target Records release in the UK. The third season of the show had gotten it's first airing on a kid's show called SATURDAY SCENE a short while earlier and a whole new wave of Bat-Mania kinda took place for a time. To capitalise on this Adam was approached to do a record and he came over and promoted the song on a few TV shows. To accompany the song was a short promo video, which I would love to see again. Anyhow every so often I Google around and found this great shot and link. English actor Nicholas Young was the then star of a kid's Sci-Fi show THE TOMORROW PEOPLE. He got the gig as the 'New' Robin. Not sure why Burt was not keen to do the vocals on the record and appear to promote the show but for whatever reason Nicholas was cast to take his place. As I recal the outfit was very close to the TV show outfit but with a heavy leaning toward the 1970s TEEN TITANS look as Nicholas had longer hair as you see and also he had the longer cape and more boot looking footwear than the 'pixie' bootees. There are a number of shots of Adam with the SATURDAY SCENE presenter Sally James wearing the outfit and these have been seen here but this was a first for me seeing Adam and Nicholas together from the time of the record. The TOMORROW PEOPLE DVDs have commentaries and on one of them Nicholas talks about his experinces with Adam and the record too. It was at this time that Adam appeared in stores up and down the country in costume and I was lucky enough to meet him in the big London store Selfridges. Anyone else have any shots of Nicholas and Adam especially together in costume if possible?
