In 2010, it was announced that Breck Eisner had signed on to direct a 3D film version of Flash Gordon. "The film's story is in place and the screenplay is now being worked on." On April 22, 2014 The Hollywood Reporter has report that 20th Century Fox are developing the Flash Gordon reboot with J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay writing the film's script.
