Helen Cho was the late mother of Amadeus Cho and wife of Philip Cho. When Amadeus was 15, he won the Excello soap corporation's online quiz to find young geniuses, which promised a large cash prize. In reality, the quiz was a way for Pythagoras Dupree, a deranged and paranoid former child prodigy, to track down and eliminate potential young geniuses. He arranged for the Cho family to be killed in an explosion, though Amadeus and his younger sister Maddy managed to survive.
